To "turn against someone" or "something" is a phrasal verb. It is generally used when a person has changed from supporting or being friendly with someone else, to opposing or disliking that person or thing. Ex: A lot of his supporters turned against him. Ex: The other members of the team turned against her because of her cheating. Ex: What turned you against the new work policies? Ex: Even though they were siblings, he still turned against her.
