Great question! I can understand how this can be confusing :) "Something's gotta give" is definitely an idiom. It means that the current situation is likely to change or should change. Ex: Something's gotta give. I'm sure things will change eventually. Ex: I don't think he will stay mad at you too long. He's gotta give soon.
