Yes, "don't trouble yourself" is a general expression, however it is not super common to use. "Don't trouble yourself" is used to tell someone they don't have to do something or try to help someone either because it is a waste of time or because they are trying to be polite. Ex: Please don't trouble yourself. I can carry this stuff by myself! Ex: Don't trouble yourself, that horse will never obey orders.
