I don't understand the sentence structure of "way my dad made it sound", is it acceptable to use it? Could you tell me the way to make sentence like this?

Grammatically, no. This sentence is not acceptable. However, many native speakers will still speak like this. She is speaking informally because she has dropped several words in the sentence. "The" and "that" are removed from the beginning of the sentence. It should be "The way that my dad made it sound..." If you want to form a sentence like this, you can drop certain determiners, such as "this, that, those" and articles. It will not always work. Explaining how it works is difficult because it is situational, and it's difficult to give examples because of how situational it is.
