A "one way ticket" is a ticket that allows a traveler to only travel to their destination, but not return. "One way tickets" are usually purchased when a traveler does not know when they returning home, or do not plan to return home. The opposite of a "one way ticket" is a "round-trip ticket" or "round trip tickets", which allow a traveler to return home. Ex: I bought a one-way ticket to Korea because I don't know how long I will stay there. Ex: My mom surprised me with round-trip tickets to Japan so I can go on a vacation there.
