There are "push" or "press", but why does the speaker use the word "hit"? What is the difference?

Great question. To "hit" a button has the same meaning as "clicking" or "pressing" a button. There's no difference between them and in the case of this clip you could interchange the words and the meaning would remain the same. Ex: Press the save button. Ex: Click the save button. Ex: Hit the save button.
