Is there any difference between "I gotta go" and "I have to go"?

"Gotta" is a contraction of "got to" or "have got to", so there is no difference in meaning between "I gotta go" and "I have got to go". However, "gotta" is much more informal and casual, so saying "I gotta go" sounds a lot less proper and much more casual than "I have to go".
