I suppose that "lovely day" is quite a common phrase. But, is there any alternative expression?

Yes, "lovely day" is quite common to use! You also can use alternatives expressions: beautiful day, gorgeous day, it's really nice out, or great weather we're having. Ex: What a beautiful day! Ex: Great weather we're having. I can't wait to get outside. Ex: You should be outside. It's really nice out. Ex: It's such a gorgeous day, why spend it indoors?
