"Red rover" is a game for children. When you play red rover, you have two teams. Each team forms a line and holds arms, making a short length of chain. Once everyone is ready, you chant "Red rover, red rover, send (insert child's name from the other team) right over!" Whoever's name is called out, that child will run to the other team and try to break the chain (get two of the kids to let go of their hands) by running into the joined arms. If that child breaks the chain, then the child grabs someone from that team and brings him or her over to their team. If she doesn't break the chain, then she joins that team. Whichever team that has only one person left, loses! We used to play this a lot as children.
