I often see Spanish in American movie. Can most of the American speak Spanish?

There are a number of reasons for this. Due to long historical ties and a geographical proximity, Spanish is often found in American culture and media. There is a large Latin-American population in America and American students learn Spanish as a second language in school, much like how students around the world learn English. Although it is difficult to say that most Americans speak Spanish fluently, a large part of the population can understand and speak it to some degree.
