To be "thrilled" refers to having a sudden feeling of excitement or happiness. It is similar to being "happy" or "glad" but it implies a slightly stronger feeling of joy than "happy" or "glad". However while this feeling may be stronger, the excitement and joy from being "thrilled" is often only temporary, while being "happy" or "glad" may last longer. Ex: I am thrilled to see my family after being away for so long. Ex: I just won the lottery. I am thrilled!
