What is the difference of "since" and "because" in this case?

"Because" is more frequently used in both speaking and writing. We tend to use this word more to indicate the reason for something. Ex: I spoke quietly because it was night and everyone was sleeping. "Since" has a very similar meaning, however, it places more of a focus on the result, or latter half of the sentence, rather than the reason. Ex: Diamonds are expensive, since they're quite rare. (Rare being the focus here) We can see that in the video, the speaker has used "since" to place focus on the end half (result) of the sentence, which is the cat's actions.
