Can I use "attractive" instead of "alluring"? What's the difference?

"Alluring" and "attractive" are slightly different. Alluring means to be seductive, or to be powerfully and mysteriously attractive. Attractive is more straightforward and doesn't have the effect of being "mysterious." "Alluring" is often used to refer to a seductive smell, or mysterious beauty. In this case, "alluring musk" is meant to be understood in a sarcastic way. Ex: Her slight smile was alluring. Ex: This perfume contains the alluring scent of roses.
