What is the difference between "might" and "may"? How do you use each of it?

"May" is used to express a possibility, or as a polite way to ask permission. "Might" is also used to express a possibility, but it expresses a possibility that has a somewhat low probability of happening or being true. Ex: I may get a promotion at work, my boss said she wanted to give me one. Ex: May I borrow a pencil? I left mine at home. Ex: I might go on a vacation to Hawaii this summer, but I'm not sure if I will.
