I'm having trouble with understanding "would that be." How can I understand this expression?

"Would that be" is used to emphasize that something could be a lot of fun, great, or cool if it were to happen. This phrase is wishing for something to happen even if it isn't possible. The kids are telling Mitch that taking a picture in front of Barbara Streisand's home would be a great birthday gift and story for him, even if he decided not to do it. Ex: Would that be amazing if we lived by the ocean? Ex: I think that would be wonderful if those two got married. Ex: It would be wonderful if we could visit your grandfather this weekend.
