"Leap into" means to take action right away/immediately. You can use this phrase when you are telling a story of how someone acted immediately. You usually don't use this phrase in the present tense. Here are a few examples: The medical team leaped into action when they found out someone was hurt. He leaps into action when it comes to his children. She leaped into action to save the dog.
