Great question. A "reporter" is the person who reports events that take place or have taken place anywhere in the world. It is not the job of a "reporter" to give an opinion, they simply tell the facts. That is the key difference between the two. A "journalist", unlike a "reporter", would become more involved and try to find out more than just the simple news. A "journalist" would take more steps in the investigation, and give a more detailed commentary or opinion. A journalist does all this when they talk about the news. Ex: I like the news reporter on channel 7. She is very easy to understand. Ex: I disagreed with the article by the new journalist. It was very offensive.
