What's the difference between "condominium" and "apartment"?

"Condominiums", also called a "condos" are usually comprised of multiple units that are owned separately. In big cities, condominiums may be all in one building unit, but often times condos are in separate units outside and look like a small house. "Apartments", on the other hand, are most always inside in one building unit, and each unit is owned by the same owner.
