"It's for a good cause" means "it's for charity". A "good cause" or "charity" is an organization that is nonprofit and gives services to people or animals who need them. For example, a "food bank", a place where people who can not afford food can get food for free, is a good cause/charity. Ex: The money we made from the event is for a good cause. It is going an animal shelter. Ex: I felt good buying that bracelet because the money I paid for it is going to a good cause.
