Can I say "handle a camera" instead of "work a camera"?
I would say no they cannot. "Handle" has the nuance of something being difficult to do and that you need some particular skill to do it. Whereas here they are making that point that a camera is easy to use and anyone can do it so "work" is much better in this context. Ex: I can't handle this car it's so big. Ex: Do you know how to work this machine?
