What does "lure" mean? Does it mean to attract someone?
It does. To "lure" someone means to seduce or tempt someone over towards you or to someplace. This is usually done by offering something tempting. Ted Bundy, a serial killer, would tempt his victims into his car by claiming he was injured and needed their help. "Lure" doesn't always have to be as serious as this. You can lure an animal into trying and helping it with food, or the smell of something can lure you. Ex: We lured the kittens to us with food. Ex: I was lured to the restaurant by the smell of their delicious food.
