Is "I don't mind it" same as "I don't care it"?

Yes, you are correct. To not "mind" something means to not care too much about something, or to not have a strong opinion about or against it. The speaker has used this expression to state that she doesn't care too much about the fact that all the students around her are male. She doesn't pay much mind to that fact. Ex: A: How do you feel about pineapple on pizza? B: I don't mind it. Ex: A: Do you want coffee or tea? B: I don't mind either.
