La frase hecha "have the guts (to do something)" (tener las agallas para hacer algo) hace referencia a ser lo suficientemente valiente para hacer algo. Esta frase hecha viene de la idea de "tener el estómago (guts) fuerte", que significa ser valiente. Ej: "She had the guts to ask him on a date." (Fue lo suficientemente valiente para pedirle salir.) Ej: "He didn't have the guts to go on the roller coaster." (No tuvo suficientes agallas para subirse a la montaña rusa.)
