"Sorry about that" y "sorry for that" tienen significados diferentes. "Sorry about that" normalmente significa "me da pena que te haya pasado esto". "Sorry for that" se utiliza para disculparse cuando se ha hecho algo mal. Ej: "I heard you lost your job, sorry about that." (He oído que has perdido el trabajo, lo siento mucho.) Ej: "I messed up the paperwork, sorry for that." (La he liado con los documento, discúlpame.)
