Is it an unwritten rule for Anchors to say hello to the reporters whenever they're connected?
It’s not necessarily a rule, but it’s considered good manners and a show of professionalism. Reporters and tv anchors are colleagues, and it creates a smooth transition from one segment of the program to another when you say a simple friendly greeting, like “good morning/afternoon/evening” or “hello.”
