Es una buena pregunta. Anothersignifica otro, algo adicional, algo extra, por lo que suele ir acompañado de un sustantivo singular. Sin embargo, si un sustantivo plural está precedido por un número o a couple of, a few, entonces se usa another. Ejemplo: In another 20 years my laptop is going to be obsolete. (En los próximos 20 años, mi computadora portátil estará obsoleta). Ejemplo: I like this city so much that I'm going to spend another three days here. (Me gusta tanto esta ciudad que me voy a quedar aquí tres días más) Ejemplo: We need another three teachers before classes begin. (necesito 3 profesores más para empezar la clase) Ejemplo: He was given another couple of months to finish the sculpture. (Le dieron dos o tres meses para completar la pieza).
