"Wind up" significa llegar o acabar en un estado, situación o lugar concreto. En esta frase, se dice: "you always wind up in the middle of what's going on". "Wind up" en esta frase significa que siempre acaba estando metida en medio del fregado (what's going on). Ej: "You wound up in the middle of the action." (Acabaste en medio del marrón.)
