"To be in a tight spot" ("estar en un momento difícil") es una frase hecha que significa que estás involucrado en una situación especialmente difícil y rara, sobre todo en una de la que no tienes fácil escapatoria. Ej: "I wish I could lend you some money but I’m in a tight spot myself." (Ojalá pudiera dejarte dinero pero estoy en un momento difícil yo también.) Ej: "If you buy those shoes you'll really be in a tight spot until you get your next pay check." (Si te compras los zapatos estarás en apuros hasta que recibas tu próxima paga.) Ej: "I know you're in a tight spot so let me treat you to dinner and a movie this weekend." (Sé que estás en un momento difícil, así que deja que te invite a cenar y al cine este fin de semana.)
