"All of sudden"은 "suddenly" 혹은 "immediately"와 같은 말이에요. 무언가에 대한 강조를 해 주고, 자연스러운 대화체를 만들어주는 말이죠. 예: I crossed the street, and all of a sudden, I saw a bear in the road. (길을 건넜는데 갑자기 길에서 곰을 봤어.) 예: I sat in the dentist's chair, and they injected me, then all of a sudden I woke up, and the procedure was done.
