Is "did have" a general expression? When do you use it?

In this context "did have" has the same meaning with "had". Do/did placed in front of verb does not change the meaning of verb. It is normally used just to emphasize the verb. Here are some examples of "do/did + verb" Ex: A: Did you bring your passport this time? B: I did bring my passport this time! How many times do I need to tell you. Ex: I do go to church often, but I don't consider myself as a Christian.
