There are not any articles in front of "second" and "first" because they are not needed. When it comes to ordinal numbers, you use articles when they are being used as adjectives. Ex: You are the first person to see these paintings. Ex: This is the third substitute this week. You do not need to use an article with ordinal numbers when they are being used as adverbs, not ordinals. In this video, they are being used as adverbs, which is why they do not have articles. Ex: He came in third place. Ex: I want to be first in line. Ex: This is his second helping of dessert.
