A "baby shower" is a party that is held for a woman when she is pregnant. It is usually organised by friends or by the pregnant woman. Usually the party involves games such as guessing the gender of the baby, guessing the due date, who can drink from a baby bottle the fastest, etc. It is also traditional for friends and family to bring gifts to the party that will be useful once the baby is born. Typically they bring things like diapers, baby clothes, baby bottles, etc. Baby showers are generally more common in the USA but they have gained popularity worldwide over time. Ex: I have no idea what to bring to Alice's baby shower. Ex: My baby shower was very small. Only my closet friends came.
