What does "killing it" mean? I don't it implies anything hostile!

It is a compliment! People use this slang impression when they want to tell others that they're doing great, doing good work, or making great progress! Ex: My sister is killing it as a lawyer. She hasn't lost a case yet! Ex: Look at you go! You're killing it on the dance floor!
