student asking question

Is something skipped in this sentence? I thought it was weird because three verbs(take, be popular, and came) are appeared. Could you make it grammatical right sentence?

This sentence is very interesting. "Take" is being used as a way to mention something as a particular example of what he is talking about, in this case, "Toronto's Kensington Market". He then goes on to explain it is a popular area for artists and so, or "because of that" or "therefore" tourists started to visit there. This sentence is therefore grammatically correct despite its uncommon structure. Another way of viewing this sentence is as follows "For example, Toronto's Kensington Market, it is a popular area for artists and because of this tourists came to stay".
