Native speaker’s answer

Rebecca

"Yet" here means "by now". The speaker is asking her friend if she "talked to Austin" about the "big kiss" at a point in time before the present. Ex: The bus has not arrived yet. Ex: Have you checked the weather yet? I want to know if I need to bring my umbrella.
