These words are fairly similar in meaning. A "path" is a route or track that leads from one place to another. Ex: This path with lead you into town. Ex: Which path should we take? A "road" is a long, hard surface built for vehicles to travel from place to place. Ex: If you take this road for several miles, you will find a gas station. Ex: The road is closed due to construction. A "route" is a planned way, path, or direction to get somewhere. Ex: Her mail route is about 70 miles. Ex: Bus drivers have specific routes they follow.
