"Polenta" is boiled cornmeal, and is often used in Italian cooking. Polenta can be served as a porridge, or formed into patties and baked, grilled or fried. Polenta tastes good with mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce, so it has a mild flavor similar to pasta. The taste of polenta is similar to corn bread, but the texture is more moist.
