"Foyer" is a French word that was borrowed in English. It refers to a large room at the front of a building normally where people enter and can wait in. It is the same thing as a "lobby". Ex: Take a seat in the foyer and I will go get the food. Ex: You can wait in the hotel foyer until your room is ready.
