Good question. Rafts and boats are both types of watercraft however they differ greatly in design. Generally, boats sit in the water and are used to transport people or things. A raft is more crude and simple, usually a flat structure that sits on top of the water and is used for support or traveling short distances. You can see in the video that the raft is flat, small, and simply made. It's not meant for heavy use or to travel long distances as they aren't very sturdy. Ex: The man stranded on the island built a raft using tree branches. Ex: The fishermen loaded up the fish onto the boat.
