Why did you shorten the word "something" to "somethin' " in the script? Is there any difference?

Sometimes, "something" gets shortened to "somethin'" in casual conversation, as the "g" is often silent when speaking. In writing, however, the "g" must be included. Ex. Let me tell you somethin', it's never too late to do something you love. Ex. Do you have somethin' you want to tell me?
