What does "realise" mean? Is it same meaning with "think"?

To "realise" means to become aware of information, to understand, or to know something. It is not the same as "think", because "think" is more uncertain than "realise". In the UK, it is spelled "realise", but in the United States, it is spelled "realize". Ex: He doesn't realize how sad I am. Ex: I just realized that Monday is a holiday so I don't have to work.
