What does "as fast" mean here?

“Fast” is another adjective that talks about something happening at speed or going at a high speed. Since we use "as" for comparison we can see that "as fast" is comparing the speed of something. In this case the speed of births and deaths. If the deaths were "as fast" as births it means they were happening at the same high speed. Ex: You're fast but I think my brother is just as fast. Ex: Wow, you've already got your mean! I hope mine comes as fast.
