Aren't "moral" and "ethic" supposed to be a same idea?

These words have different meanings. "Morals" are personal beliefs and standards of how the individual should act, what he or she considers good or bad. Morals are what guide your behavior and actions. "Ethics" are a societal standard of good and bad. Ex: Ethically, you shouldn't hire your brother when there are more qualified applicants. Ex: Even though no one will know you took that money, ethically, you should bring it to a police station.
