What's the difference between "shed" and "barn"? Can I call ordinary storage a shed?

A "barn" is a building on a farm used to house livestock, animal fodder, farming equipment, etc. A "shed" is a small building used for storage and as a work area. Ex: My father housed his dairy cows in a barn. Ex: His tool shed is quite small. Ex: She has a barn for all of her livestock. Ex: He builds sheds for a living.
