Air quotes is the action/gesture of making quotation marks with the pointer finger and middle finger of both hands (peace fingers) into the air while speaking. Doing "air quotes" while speaking indicates that what you are saying is in a mocking or joking manner. When Phil tells his wife "I didn't see you use air quotes around shared," he is saying that his wife had a bottle of wine and Phil did not have any wine. Air quotes are very fun to use, especially when joking with family and friends.
