Why is there "your"? Can I say it without "your"?

Native speaker’s answer

Rebecca

"Your majesty" is a respectful title given to a king, queen or other monarch higher than a prince. The possessive "your" here is used as a sign of respect and is very old-fashioned and rare to use in any other circumstances except in this title. When formally addressing a monarch, it would always be "your majesty" and never just "majesty".
