The term "cars" is the plural of "car". So this can refer to any number of cars that is greater than one; it just refers to multiple cars. The word "traffic" refers to a lot of cars in one area that create a busy road. When there is a lot of "traffic", this means that there are a lot of cars on the road in one area, so it is more dangerous and may take longer to drive through that area. Ex: I am stuck in traffic. There are too many cars on the road! Ex: The traffic in the city is very bad. Ex: There's a few cars on the road but not too much traffic.
