student asking question

Is it okay to not have preposition between "paint" and "the wall"? I thought something like "I spray paint TO/ON the walls" might be grammatically right.

You do not need a preposition between "paint" and "the wall." This sentence is grammatically correct and still makes sense without the use of a preposition. If you say "spray paint the wall" it is understood that the paint will go on the wall. It is quite common in English to use the verb prior to the noun. Here are a few examples of the the noun following the verb without prepositions being used between the verb and noun. Ex: Please wash the windows. Ex: Could you water the plants while I'm away? Ex: Feed the animals before you leave.
