"You know what?" is a general expression which is used to start a conversation to emphasize the next statement that comes after it. This expression is used to introduce new facts, surprises, or to attract other people's attention. "Guess what?" is a similar expression as "you know what." Ex: You know what? I never trusted him. Ex: My friend lied to me again, but you know what? I don't care anymore. Ex: Guess what? I got a 100 on the physics test.
