student asking question

Is it correct to put "not" after "may as well"? Is that the only place where "not" could be placed? (For example, "may not as well", "not may as well", and "may as not well")

Yes, if you wish to use the expressions "may as well" or "might as well" to describe the negative, "not" must be placed after. Ex: You might as well not go to school if you feel so sick. Ex: If you're only going to do it half-heartedly, you may as well not even do it in the first place.
